We’ve had an amazing time this year.. in fact, words can’t really do it justice. Instead, I thought I’d post a few photos that, to me at least, sum up the past 12 months.
Thanks so much for all your support this year, we really appreciate it, and we hope you all have a wonderful, peaceful, happy Christmas!
Rich, Allegra and Otto (and a rather large bump…)
We bought a house!
Lots of meetings with architects, most of which also involved ski resorts…
Snowboarding on a Tuesday morning!
It’s going to look like this in no time…
Beuatiful sunsets
A moody morning view from the house
Making awesome new friends
And more awesome new friends
Hanging out with old friends (no offence intended)
Attempting, and failing at, DIY
Lots and lots of gardening
Surfing in Liguria
Talking a good wave…
Checking out the local sights
Ok, it’s a tree… but it’s also a local sight!
Visiting amazing places and amazing people, like Renovating Italy
Long summer walks around Barolo
Even longer summer walks
Drinking a lot of great wine
Drinking even more wine
Running out of wine
Showing my parents around
Hanging out with our Italian family
The first snowfall of the winter
Beautiful snowy mornings
Otto reeeaalllly loves snow!
And look, it’s me in a photo! With Allegra getting rather large around the middle. Exciting times ahead…

Thanks Lisa, but I hereby promise not to become one those people who is always posting baby photos. If I break that promise, I expect you to pick me up on it! I hope you all have an awesome Christmas!!
Lovely photos! My favourite by far is your header image – just stunning! May I ask what you got planning permission for? If you are looking for any builders my husband is for rent and willing to re-locate. 😉 I can DM you photos of the house he built if you’re interested.
Thanks Jennifer! The planning permission is to renovate the fienili at both ends of the house, plus a service area to the rear. We also have to re-do the whole roof, unfortunately. We are looking for builders, but I’m kind of hopeful that we might have found one now… if it comes to nothing I’ll let you know. Are you trying to get rid of your husband!? 😉
No, my husband is great. Just trying to find some work. He’s great at roofing too. 🙂
Yeah, sure…;-) Well, as I say, if it doesn’t work out with the guy who we’re hoping it will work out with I’ll be in touch. Thanks!
Hi Richard having a bath in Venice and enjoying reading the blog – you write so well- pleased about the renovation plans and glad you got builders sorted.
When you reach the decorating stage just let us know. We will come down and help… Happy Christmas Tasos
Thanks T dog, hope you have an awesome time! Careful not to drop your phone in the bath!!

So nice to find you. Looking forward to seeing more in the future.
Hi, thanks so much for stopping by. I’ve just been having a quick look at your blog and now I’m looking forward to seeing more!
Beautiful images. I recognized the shot at Az. Agr. Stra! Also intrigued by your snowboarding photo. thanks for sharing!
Thanks! The snowboarding shot is actually from Madonna di Campiglio in the Dolomites. There are a few great places around here too though, (Artesina, Limone Piemonte…), I just don’t have any photos unfortunately. Maybe your next trip should be in early spring so that you can combine the wine and food with a bit of skiing!
